Bleeper eCargobike Scheme Features in Business of Cycling Event

Paddy Byrne, owner of Life Pharmacy in Ballsbridge and participant in Dublin City Council’s eCargobike Pilot Scheme, was one of three keynote speakers. The eCargobike has revolutionised Byrne’s business, allowing him to delivery heavy loads to customers, including a wheelchair.

Byrne has also found the eCargobike useful in his volunteer work for Tidy Towns Ballsbridge, demonstrating the versatility of this alternative mode of delivery.

The Dublin City Cycling Symposium, hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, is part of the CIVITAS Handshake Project, ‘’which brings together 13 cities across Europe to learn from each other by sharing experience, expertise and best practice on all things cycling.’’

Since September 2021, Bleeper has been partnering with Dublin City Council on eCargobike Pilot Scheme which allows Dublin businesses to rent an eCargobike for 6 months at a subsidised rate. Since then, a variety of businesses have joined the scheme, with several users accumulating over 1,000 kilometres by eCargobike. With rising costs of fuel and concerns about delivery vans parking in City Centre, eCargobikes are a low-cost and low-carbon footprint solution for Dublin Businesses.

[This cargobike scheme is not currently accepting new applications but stay tuned for further updates. If your business is interested in buying or hiring a cargo bike from Bleeper, please check out our e-bike shop or our long-term hire service.]
