Bleeper Turns Blue As Dublin Welcomes You

Bleeper Turns Blue As Dublin Welcomes You

Bleeper has teamed up with Dublin.ie and Dublin City Council to promote the We Can Dublin Again campaign, which encourages everyone to enjoy all the amenities and attractions Dublin City has to offer.

The traditional orange branding on Bleeper's public hire bikes has been replaced with a distinctive blue display featuring the message:

"Dublin is open, so come on in and Dublin again!"

"We're delighted to be involved with this campaign," says Hugh Cooney, founder and CEO of Bleeper. "We've had a great working relationship with Dublin City Council since Bleeper first started in 2017 and we're glad that Bleeper bikes can now be used to promote the city and to encourage people to come back into town as we emerge from the pandemic."

With a fleet of 800 bikes spread out across Dublin, Bleeper is an ideal medium for getting the We Can Dublin Again message to the public, whether it's people walking past a parked Bleeper, or a Bleeper being cycled along a city centre street. The bikes are highly visible and pop up at prominent locations across Bleeper's 100km² operating zone.

Dublin City Council has introduced a number of measures and initiatives to assist in the recovery of Dublin City, following the Covid-19 pandemic, and the We Can Dublin Again campaign comes as pedestrian data shows footfall in Dublin City has increased.

There has also been a significant increase in cycling numbers in the City. The number of cyclists at the weekend in the City is almost double what it was pre-Covid. The council is continuing to implement a cycle lane protection and segregation programme, protecting almost 20km of cycle lanes, since April 2020.

“Over the course of the pandemic, many people missed different things about Dublin,” said the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alison Gilliland. “Whether it be a day out exploring the shops and markets; trips to the zoo, museums or galleries; or simply meeting up at your favourite restaurant or café for lunch or dinner with family or friends. There is so much this great City has to offer."

You can expect to see the blue Bleeper bikes on the streets of Dublin until the end of November - So, come on in and Dublin again!
